ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – Tompkins County health officials seek information about a dog bite.
The Environmental Health Division wants to confirm the dog’s vaccination status to rule out rabies treatment for the victim. Officials say it happened around 11 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the corner of East State Street and North Cayuga Street near the Cornell Store on the Commons.
The dog, described as medium to large, and black, was sitting in a black SUV that was parked, empty, and had its window down. A pedestrian was bitten when they reached through the window to pet the animal.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Environmental Health at 607-274-6688.
Health officials are still seeking info about a separate dog bite incident last Tuesday in the 900 block of North Cayuga Street.
