ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — More grant money is landing at Ithaca’s airport.
Congressman Marc Molinaro says over 10 million dollars from the FAA’s Airport Infrastructure Grant Program and the Airport Improvement Grant Program is going to several airports in the 19th Congressional district.
The Ithaca Tompkins International Airport is getting nearly $3.8 million dollars “to reconstruct 5,000 square yards of the existing Terminal Apron pavement, rehabilitate 20,000 square yards of the existing Terminal Apron pavement, update the Sustainable Master Plan/Solid Waste Recycling Plan and improve the Geographic Information System,” Molinaro said.
“The combined funding for these grants is a testament to our commitment to enhancing both the sustainability and infrastructure of Ithaca Tompkins International Airport,” Airport Director Roxan Noble said.
Earlier this month, Senator Chuck Schumer announced over $2.6 million dollars for Ithaca’s airport, which also comes from the FAA.
