ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — A Cornell hoops coach is reacting to the recent spike in WNBA ratings.

The league is seeing record numbers in viewership. Cornell Women’s Basketball Director of Operations Vanese Barnes says women’s basketball is a hot commodity.

“I think it always has been, but it’s really starting to pick up the traction that it deserves like many other female sports,” she says. “I think the more attention that we start to draw to the WNBA, the more powerful it becomes in such a positive way.”

On June 16, over two million people watched a game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever.
