BINGHAMTON, NY (CortacaToday) – Snow could be coming to the region.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter storm watch for much of the area, including Tompkins, Cortland, and Tioga Counties. Heavy, wet snow is possible beginning tomorrow afternoon. Up to 4 inches is possible, and as much as 8 inches in higher elevations over the course of the storm.

Meteorologists say the weight of the snow and strong winds could cause downed power lines and outages. Drivers are advised to anticipate slippery roads and use caution on their work commutes.

The watch will be in effect from 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024, through 4 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024.

The storm watch additionally applies in Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung, Chenango, Otsego, and Broome Counties.
