WILLET, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cortland County man is in jail without bail.

On July 2, deputies were dispatched to a home on Bloody Pond Road around 2:15 p.m. for a welfare check.

Investigators say 70-year-old James Allen “attempted to injure another individual on scene.” Allen was located, arrested, and charged with three counts of felony criminal possession of a weapon and three counts of misdemeanor menacing.

Allen is scheduled to appear in Willet Town Court on September 4.
