Cornell’s lacrosse season is underway. The Big Red women’s team took a loss Tuesday to Syracuse, 18-10. The Big Red is now 1-1 this season. The Cornell men’s team, which is 1-0, is in action on Saturday.

Ithaca College kicks off the lacrosse season on Saturday with the men’s team on the road at St. John Fisher. The women will host SUNY Brockport this weekend.

The Knicks host the Bulls tomorrow night at MSG. Tipoff at 7:30.

The Nets host the Cavaliers tomorrow night in Brooklyn at 7:30.

Mets owner Steve Cohen says he wants to curb his spending. Cohen, who signed Juan Soto to a record $765 million, 15-year contract last year, said Tuesday he wrestles with spending millions. “I can finance it. Is that the most optimal way to run the team? Probably not,” he said. “I wrestle with that all the time, even this year. I had had a thought of like where I wanted to be and I’ve already blown through it.”
