ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Tompkins County’s rapid response EMS pilot program is currently slated to end when 2025 is over.

Program Manager Joe Milliman hopes it’ll become a permanent part of the county’s long-term plans.

When it comes to goals for 2025, Milliman says it’s much the same from last year.

Since launching in April 2024, Milliman tells WHCU his EMS crews have responded to over 800 calls and have decreased response times in rural area of Tompkins County. The program operates under the Tompkins County Department of Emergency Response.
