OWEGO, NY (CortacaToday) — Old photos of Apalachin are in a new book.
A revised edition of Copper Streak Trail by Eugene Manlove Rhodes was recently published. Owego Town Historian Peter Gordon, who edited the book, said it includes early photos of Ransom Steele Tavern and the one-room schoolhouse on Mutton Hill.

“There’s also pictures of the old horse-and-buggy taxi, and the old railroad station,” he said.
The western novel tells the story of an Apalachin boy who discovered a copper mine in Arizona. The book is available on Amazon and at Riverow Bookshop in Owego.
