WAVERLY, NY (CortacaToday) – A Pennsylvania man is accused of stealing gasoline from the Waverly Central School District.

According to Waverly Police, 61-year-old John Robbins, of Sayre, drilled holes into the fuel tanks of two district vehicles to steal gas. The estimated amount of stolen gas is about $224.70, and the damage and labor cost to replace the tanks is $2,813. 40.

Robbins was arrested in Sayre on July 7 and extradited from Bradford County Jail to Tioga County on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.  Waverly Central School administration, State Police, and Sayre Police assisted Waverly officers with this investigation.

Robbins is charged with felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor petit larceny. He was held to await further legal action.
