ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Some traffic delays are expected in Ithaca.

Beginning today, crews will start replacing an aging water main at the intersection of South Albany and Clinton Street. Officials say the intersection will be completely closed for the duration of the work. Some water service interruptions in the area are expected. The project is scheduled to wrap up around 3:30 p.m. on January 17.

Recommended Detours

  • Eastbound traffic on Clinton St. should turn left on Fayette St., right on Green St., and right on Geneva St. to return to Clinton St.
  • Westbound traffic on Clinton St. should turn left on Geneva St., right on N. Titus Ave., and right on S. Plain St. to return to Clinton St.
  • Northbound traffic on S. Albany St. should turn left on Center St., right on N. Titus Ave., and right on Green St. to return to S. Albany St.
  • Southbound traffic on S. Albany St. should turn left on Green St., right on Cayuga St., and right on N. Titus Ave. to return to S. Albany St.
