LANSING, NY (607NewsNow) — The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office has released new information about a reported burglary on Aug. 26 in the town of Lansing.

29-year-old Caleb Imhof has been arrested, becoming the 5th person apprehended as part of the investigation. Around 3:30 a.m. last Wednesday, deputies say a trespass in progress was reported at a business that had closed in the 100 block of Fenner Rd.

“Arriving on scene, deputies located a suspicious vehicle parked behind a closed gate on the property.  While investigating the suspicious vehicle deputies heard tools being used as well other suspicious sounds from within the property,” authorities said last week.

Two suspects were immediately detained at the scene “actively removing parts from vehicles and gathering other valuables from around the property,” deputies stated.

Imhof is charged with felony burglary and two misdemeanors:
– Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th
– Petit Larceny
