ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Travel options at Ithaca Tompkins International Airport (ITH) are increasing in 2025.
Beginning March 30, United Airlines will run flights from ITH to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) twice daily. Direct service from Ithaca to D.C. has not been offered since 2022.
“Restoring United Airlines service to Washington, DC provides convenient connections for the most frequently traveled destinations in the United States and over 105 international connections,” said Ithaca Area Economic Development President Heather McDaniel.
The flights, which will be on 50-seat jets, will be timed to make same-day trips possible. It’s welcome news for the county and airport.
“Thanks to the dedicated staff at ITH, United’s new service will not only increase connectivity for local travelers but also increase revenue to the airport, which like many other regional airports, has struggled to regain market share post-pandemic,” added McDaniel.
Airport officials say a third daily flight will be introduced in August 2025.
