ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — The labor strike at Cornell could soon be ending.
Representatives with the United Auto Workers union say a tentative agreement with the university has been reached. It includes hourly wage increases of over 20 percent over four years.
UAW members will vote on ratifying the contract Sunday and Monday. If the deal is approved, staff would return to work Tuesday.
The strike began the night of Aug. 18. Over 1,000 chefs, custodians, and groundkeepers have refused to cross the picket line.
