WILLET, NY (CortacaToday) – Following reports of sex abuse allegations in August, two men are in custody in Cortland County.

Joshua Marshall, 31, of Norwich, is accused of subjecting a victim known to him to inappropriate sexual contact in Willet between 2019 and 2024. Marshall was arrested Friday, September 13, 2024, and charged with felony rape and misdemeanor assault. He was remanded to Cortland County Jail and bail was set at $10,000 cash.

The next day, 56-year-old Carl Marshall, of Willet, was picked up for similar crimes that allegedly happened between 2022 and 2024. Marshall is charged with felony rape, misdemeanor sexual abuse, and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child. He was remanded to Cortland County Jail on $1,000 cash bail.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office confirms that the men are related, but the victims of the crimes are different.

Both are scheduled to appear in Willet Town Court on October 3, 2024, at 6 p.m.
