BARTON, NY (607NewsNow) – A fire in Tioga County was deemed suspicious, and authorities have made arrests.

On March 31, two juveniles are accused of entering a vacant home on Elliston Road in Barton and intentionally setting it ablaze. The Waverly-Barton Fire Department extinguished the fire. According to the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office, the suspects caused about $65,000 in damage.

Each is charged with felony burglary, felony arson, and felony criminal mischief. The pair were issued appearance tickets for Tioga County Probation and Tioga County Family Court.
