ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Tompkins County has a new head of health.
Legislators unanimously approved the appointment of Jennie Sutcliffe as the new commissioner of Whole Health. After last night’s vote, Sutcliffe emphasized collaboration.
In explaining her 3 priorities for stepping into the role, Sutcliffe said one is ‘meeting the political moment.’
Sutcliffe, who grew up in Trumansburg, says she returned to Tompkins County a couple years ago. She’s succeeding former commissioner Frank Kruppa, who resigned earlier this year after accepting a job at Cayuga Health. Jeremy Porter currently serves as interim commissioner. Sutcliffe begins her 6-year term as Tompkins County’s health leader on Monday, July 7.
