TRUMANSBURG, NY (CortacaToday) — Trumansburg is a pro-housing community.
Village trustee Ben Darfler, who led the certification effort, says Trumansburg is now eligible to receive up to 650 million dollars in funding.
“The Pro-Housing Communities Program, an initiative by New York State, acknowledges municipalities that are actively working to create more housing opportunities and address the state’s housing shortage. As a certified Pro-Housing Community, Trumansburg is now eligible to apply for various discretionary funding programs, with up to $650 million in funding available,” according to a statement released by village officials.
“We are thrilled to receive this certification,” said Darfler. “It reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring that all our residents have access to safe, affordable housing. This recognition will help us further our efforts in creating a more inclusive community and improving our infrastructure.”
In Trumansburg, the average price of a home is nearly 90 percent higher than in 2019.
