ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Much of the Southern Tier is bracing for dangerous weather.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Tompkins, Cortland, Tioga, Broome, Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben counties until 3 p.m. Thursday, June 18.

NWS forecasters in Binghamton say, “isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out” but the “main threat remains damaging winds.”
