ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – The e-cigarette company Juul has been ordered to pay a settlement to help combat youth vaping in New York.
State Attorney General Letitia James first made the announcement late last month. Tompkins County Administrator Lisa Holmes says the county and TST BOCES will receive settlement money.
Holmes adds the county and TST BOCES are subject to guidelines on how the funding can be used.
The Tompkins County Whole Health Department and Tompkins County Youth Services Department are working together to make recommendations on how the county should spend the money. Holmes says a draft proposal will likely come before Health and Human Services Committee for consideration in the fall.
