ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – Infrastructure improvements are coming to Tompkins County.

New York is awarding $484 million for 216 projects in 137 communities across the state for critical bridge and culvert work. The funding comes from the state’s BRIDGE NY initiative with “significant support from the federal Bridge Formula Program.”

The Southern Tier is getting nearly $60 million, including $8.027 million for projects in Tompkins County.

Projects

  • $4.75 million to replace Falls Road bridge over Taughannock Creek
  • $1.051 million to replace Stone Quarry Road culvert, City of Ithaca
  • $896,000 to reline the Maplewood Road culvert carrying the tributary to Cayuga Lake, Town of Ulysses
  • $1.33 million to replace Union Street culvert, Village of Dryden
