ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – With fraud on the rise, a department in Tompkins County is stepping up education efforts.
On August 11, the Tompkins County Office for the Aging (COFA) will host a virtual class, “Scams 101,” as part of its Caregivers Support program. An expert, Sheila Brewer-Montero, Fraud Prevention Coordinator at Lifespan of Greater Rochester Inc., will discuss key terms, common scams, and answer questions.
The virtual meeting is scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, August 11 via Zoom.
