ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Tompkins County Office for the Aging (COFA) will celebrate its 50th Anniversary with a special event and Senior Living Expo on Friday, July 25th, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Hotel Ithaca. The event is free and open to the public.
This milestone celebration will recognize five decades of COFA’s commitment to enhancing the lives of older adults in Tompkins County. Community members, caregivers, service providers, and older adults are invited to join in honoring COFA’s achievements and to explore current aging services and resources.
Event highlights include:

Vendors from over 30 local and regional organizations offering services for older adults and caregivers

A breakout presentation at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM titled “Frauds and Scams: Awareness, Detection, Prevention and Action”

10-minute fall risk screenings conducted by physical therapists from Reilley Physical Therapy to assess balance, strength, and mobility

A brief commemorative ceremony at 3:15 PM recognizing COFA’s legacy and impact
“We are thrilled to celebrate 50 years of serving the older adults in our community,” said Lisa Monroe, Director of the Tompkins County Office for the Aging. “This event is both a celebration of the past and a look toward the future of aging services in our community. And what better way to do that than to bring back our popular Senior Living Expo!”
Since its founding in 1975, the Tompkins County Office for the Aging has served as a vital resource for older adults, promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life.
