ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – Health officials seek information about a dog bite in Ithaca.

It happened around 3:15 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024, in the 400 block of College Avenue. A person was allegedly bit on their hand and ankle while picking up a glove they dropped near the UPS Store at 407 College Ave.

Tompkins County Whole Health’s Environmental Health Division is looking to verify the dog’s vaccination status to rule out rabies treatment for the victim. The pup is described as small with short hair, possibly a beagle mix, with distinctive white, brown, and dark brown spots.

The dog was being walked by a white male, approximately 40-50 years old, six feet tall, with a beard and glasses. He was wearing a winter hat and a purple hooded sweatshire.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Environmental Health at (607)-274-6688.
