ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – A trio of notable public meetings are happening tonight in Ithaca.
The Tompkins County Industrial Development Agency is looking for input about a large project.
Developers seek to transform the former Emerson Power facility on South Aurora Street into SouthWorks; a mixed-use campus with residential, retail, commercial, and academic space. Ithaca Area Economic Development President Heather McDaniel calls the $580 million once-in-a-lifetime project “the biggest Ithaca has ever seen.” The public hearing begins at 4:30 p.m. at Ithaca Town Hall. Residents are invited to hear about and provide feedback on the proposed Tompkins County budget for 2025. It starts at 5:30 p.m. in the Tompkins County Legislative Chambers in Ithaca. If you cannot attend in person, you can find information on how to attend virtually here.
Elsewhere in Ithaca, town officials are looking for input on a proposed recreational project on Culver Road.
Planning representatives are hosting an open house and guided walk at the Babcock Ridge Trail project site. Attendees can ask questions and give input that will be utilized in developing the property. It’s happening from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. More information can be found here.
