OWEGO, NY (CortacaToday) — COVID-19 relief money could help clean up a homeless encampment in Tioga County.

Legislators are considering spending about $37,000 from the American Rescue Plan Act. The money would help clean up garbage and sewage along Foundry Street in Owego.

Officials recently deemed the encampment a threat to public health.

Legislators gather at 12 p.m. on Tuesday.
