HOMER, NY (607NewsNow) – Two people from Syracuse face multiple felonies after a 13-month investigation in Homer.

On August 5, 19-year-old Carlito Walls and 22-year-old Asiya Rice, of Syracuse, were arrested and charged with burglary, criminal mischief, and criminal possession of stolen property.

The Salt City pair are accused of forcefully entering a South Main Street business in Homer on June 9, 2024, and stealing cash. After leaving the village, the pair allegedly perpetrated similar crimes in Cortland, Tully, Dewitt, and Salina. Homer Police say Walls and Rice used a car reported stolen in the City of Syracuse to carry out the crimes.

According to the Homer Police Department, Walls and Rice, who are in custody with the New York State Department of Corrections, are scheduled to return to Homer Town Court on September 16.
