SYRACUSE, NY (607NewsNow) — Hockey fans in Syracuse have a reason to smile.
The Syracuse Crunch and Tampa Bay Lightning are extending their affiliation. The partnership runs through the 2029-2030 season.
Crunch Owner Howard Dolgon said the team is “honored and excited” to extend the partnership.
“Over the past 14 seasons of this relationship, Crunch fans have been treated to the most competitive, highest quality of hockey in our franchise’s history,” Dolgon said. “We look forward to more of the same.”
Syracuse appeared in the Calder Cup Finals in 2013 and 2017. This past season, the team was eliminated in the North Division Semifinals.
Tampa Bay has also experienced recent success: The Lightning won the Stanley Cup in 2020 and 2021.
