ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Sustainable Finger Lakes is making an addition to its leadership team.

Jessika Bond is joining as deputy director from western North Carolina, where she worked on preservation. Bond will oversee the group’s day-to-day operations while President Gay Nicholson focuses on building coalitions.

“I am beyond thrilled to join the Sustainable Finger Lakes team as Deputy Director,” Bond said. “I am eager to listen to and learn from communities across the region and to work alongside staff, partners, and residents to expand both the reach of our mission and the depth of our impact throughout the Finger Lakes. I firmly believe that the solutions that we can create together will build a blueprint for future generations who love their communities and want to invest in their future.”

Prior to her hiring, Sustainable Finger Lakes says Bond “worked with organizations across Western North Carolina to secure funding, build interdisciplinary coalitions, strengthen regional capacity, and support initiatives focused on circular economic opportunity, resilience, and community well-being.”
