CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — A former SUNY Cortland slugger will continue his career on the diamond.

Shortstop Nick Marola has signed a professional contract with the Brockton Rox of the Frontier League. The team is based about an hour south of Boston.

Marola recently wrapped up his senior season with Cortland; he hammered seven home runs this spring.
