CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — SUNY Cortland has a new head football coach.

Tom Blumenauer will lead the team. He was previously the head coach at Franklin & Marshall College.

“It is a privilege to join an institution renowned for its nationally recognized academic programs and strong athletic traditions,” Blumenauer said. “I look forward to meeting the entire team and beginning our preparation for the 2025 season.”

Blumenauer replaces previous coach Curt Fitzpatrick, who led the Red Dragons to a national championship in 2023. Fitzpatrick is now the head football coach at Colgate.
