CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – A major renovation project at SUNY Cortland is officially complete.

On March 27, the school formally cut the ribbon on the new wing of C-Wing of Cornish and Van Hoesen Halls, though it was ready for student use at the start of the semester.

The $27 million project, which broke ground in 2023, features major upgrades to the building’s exterior and interior, including new media facilities with the latest technologies, updated offices, and disability resources.

According to SUNY Cortland, the Communication and Media Studies Department features new faculty offices, a new audio production studio, a new video production studio, a new on-air radio station, a podcasting room, and a cinema screening room.

Other additions include new offices for Conley Counseling and Wellness Services and the Educational Opportunity Program, as well as three new student lounges.
