ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — The strike at Cornell is over.

UAW Local 2300 members approved a new contract on Monday, ending a strike that lasted slightly over two weeks. Pay for about 1,200 employees will increase by between 21 and 25 percent in a deal that stretches over four years. The contract was ratified by 77 percent of union members in voting held Sunday and Monday.

UAW Local 2300 President Christine Johnson was on Ithaca’s Morning News on Friday, before the vote, and said she hoped discussions can continue with a new contract in place.

According to the union, striking workers began returning to their jobs at 10 p.m. Monday. The rest will return today.
