MARATHON, NY (607NewsNow) — Troopers might be moving to a new location in the Village of Marathon.

State Police currently use Corporation Hall on East Main Street as a satellite office. Talks are underway to relocate the office to the new Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps building on Broome Street, which is anticipated to open in 2026.

Troopers currently pay no rent at Corporation Hall, and the village is trying to find other uses for the building. Meanwhile, the village is considering ways to revamp its business district.
