CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) — A longtime member of the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office has turned in his badge.

Sheriff Mark Helms says Sergeant Jason Newcomb has retired after a 34-year career. Newcomb was given a plaque for his retirement, noting his first and last day on duty – October 27, 1989, and July 23, 2024.
