CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — A majority of voters in the Cortland Enlarged City School District have approved a spending plan for the 2025-26 academic year.

In Tuesday’s budget re-vote, the district says the $61.2 million proposal saw 65% approval, 510-272. Results will be certified at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24 in a special Board of Education meeting.

“I would like to thank everyone involved in creating the budget for their time and effort this year,” superintendent Bob Edwards said. “I am grateful for all who exercised their right to vote, and for all of you who continue to have positive effects on our students.”

“We are appreciative of those who came out and supported our budget last night,” the district’s business administrator Kris Williamson stated.

The spending plan was the only item on Tuesday’s ballot. In May, voters rejected the original budget proposition and a proposal to purchase one electric bus and three diesel buses. Three other propositions last month in the district passed without a problem.
