WATKINS GLEN, NY (607NewsNow) — A near-30-year career as district attorney is enough for Joseph Fazzary.
Schuyler County’s lead prosecutor has announced his retirement. “It has truly been an honor and privilege for me to serve the residents of Schuyler and many of the surrounding counties,” Fazzary said in a statement.
“I have always tried to be fair and seek justice instead of convictions,” Fazzary continued. “In every case, I tried to delve into the minds of the offender and the victim to help me decide how justice could best be served.”
First elected as DA in 1997, Fazzary joined the Schuyler County prosecutor’s office as an intern before becoming an assistant DA a year later. His term ends on December 31, 2025.
