ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Salvation Army needs your help to provide for children this holiday season.
The Salvation Army Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of children here in Tompkins County. The Salvation Army Angel Tree, located inside the Shops at Ithaca Mall outside of Target and Michaels, has tags that allow you to provide clothing, toys, a monetary donation, or a gift card to help children in need in the community be able to experience Christmas.
In a conversation with Captain Stacy McNeil from the Salvation Army, the need is the largest it’s ever been. Well over 800 children will receive gifts and clothing this holiday, although they have fallen short in their collection for the children with over 80 tags still on the tree and have extended the collection deadline.
While they are in need of tags for different age groups of both boys and girls to be picked up, they especially have a need for gifts for boys aged 8 to 14 years old this holiday season. If you are interested, all you need to do is grab a tag, buy the gift on the tag, and the Salvation Army will make sure the gift is delivered.
