WASHINGTON, DC (607NewsNow) — Congressman Josh Riley supports dairy farms.

The Democrat says he’s co-sponsoring the Dairy Farm Resiliency Act, the Fair Milk Pricing for Farmers Act, and the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act. Riley, who represents the 19th Congressional district, calls dairy farmers the backbone of rural areas and the local economy.

“Dairy farmers are the backbone of our rural communities and local economy. But for too long, Upstate dairy farmers have been getting the short end of the stick while big corporations rake in record profits. Enough is enough,” Riley said. “I’m proud to support these commonsense, bipartisan efforts to help level the playing field, stop price gouging, and give kids more access to nutritious milk in schools.”

He’s a member of the House Committee on Agriculture.
