ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — Ithaca’s new deputy city manager is excited. 

Friday on Ithaca’s Morning News, Dominick Recckio told us he can’t wait to get started. 

As Deputy City Manager, he will be responsible for steering strategic initiatives, coordinating community partner programs, enhancing operational efficiency, and promoting transparent communication between the City government and its residents,” according to a statement on the City of Ithaca website. “The Deputy City Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategic public safety initiatives, including an unarmed response program and coordination with the Community Justice Center. Recckio says it’s a big role.

“We continue to build a great team at the City of Ithaca,” City Manager Deb Mohlenhoff said. “Dominick will bring significant local experience in enhancing government transparency and community engagement, as well as his commitment to the important work of developing equitable public safety initiatives.” Recckio, who’s been the Tompkins County communications director since 2020, starts as Ithaca’s deputy city manager on December 30th.
