ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A recall of Cuisinart grill brushes announced earlier this year is expanding.
About 1.9 million brushes have been added to the July 2 recall, bringing the total to roughly 3.625 million.
Officials say the wire bristles can detach, posing an ingestion hazard, and there have been at least 54 reported injuries. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, it includes brushes sold from June 2009 through March of this year at Walmart, TJ Maxx, Ross, Burlington, and online through Amazon.com and Cuisinart.com.
Product details are available here.
Consumers should stop using the brushes immediately, discard them, and contact the manufacturer, Conair, for a refund.
