(607NewsNow) — Our pets of the week start with Benson (Top L) and Polly (Top R) from CNY Snap.

Benson is about 3 years old and has been at the shelter since October 2022 after being trapped as a skittish one year old living on the streets. He is a shy boy that hangs out off to the side, so he doesn’t get noticed among all the cats when someone comes looking to adopt, although he can be pet if you approach calmly. Benson has never had a home to call his own, so a calm household willing to show him lots of love and patience would be ideal. He has been neutered, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Polly is 2 to 4 years old and gets along with other cats and dogs in her foster home. Polly is friendly and playful, but not necessarily a cuddler. She likes to spend time with her people, but also values her alone time. She has been spayed, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, microchipped and is up to date on vaccines.

Next, we have Wanda (Bottom L) and Iris (Bottom R) from the Cortland County SPCA. Wanda is a sweet and friendly girl full of energy and intelligence. Wanda loves to cuddle and play, but she’s also very smart, always eager to learn new tricks. While Wanda is generally wonderful, she does have some food aggression issues, but with the right training and patience, she’s making great progress.

Iris a vibrant young puppy with a heart full of love. She’s a fast learner and has already mastered basic commands. Iris is a playful spirit who loves a good game of fetch and can’t resist a squeaky toy. Despite her energetic nature, she also enjoys quiet moments, snuggling close for a nap or a belly rub. She is also house-trained and socialized, so she gets along with other dogs and enjoys making new friends.
