(607NewsNow) — Our pets of the week start with Benson (Top L) and Shorty (Top R) from CNY Snap.
Benson is approximately 3 years old and has been at the shelter since October 2022 after being trapped as a skittish one year old living on the streets. He is a shy boy that hangs out off to the side, so he doesn’t get noticed among all the cats when someone comes looking to adopt. He can be pet if you approach calm. Benson needs a patient person that will give him time to learn he can trust them. He has been neutered, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
Shorty is approximately 1-2 years old and arrived in November 2024 after someone who had been feeding him outside brought him so he wouldn’t be in the cold. He’d been abandoned outside and is a calm boy who can be pet and given affection. He is FIV positive, but he still looks and acts like any other cat. FIV is only transmitted to other felines primarily through deep, penetrating bite wounds. His adoption fee has been waived in order to find him a good home. He has been neutered, FeLV negative, microchipped and is up to date on vaccines.
Next, we have Sam (Bottom L) and Jaxson (Bottom R) from the Cortland County SPCA. Sam is a shy but nervous guy who is learning to ease his suspicions about the world. He has made some human friends at the shelter and likes to get head rubs and chin scratches from them. Sam is a calm cat who is ready to give his affection to the right people in a quiet, peaceful home.
Jaxson is a lovable goofball with a heart full of joy. He’s full of playfulness and energy, and his intelligence is evident in his quick learning and adaptability. He’s a social butterfly, having interacted positively with kids and other dogs, displaying his friendly nature. If you’re looking for a loyal buddy who will fill your life with laughter, fun, and love, Jaxson is your guy.
