TRUXTON, NY (607NewsNow) – A pair of Pennsylvanians await their date in a Cortland County courtroom.

Gilbert Acevedo, 65, and 59-year-old Gayle Lomax, of Scranton, are accused of posing as agents with a federal banking agency to defraud a Truxton resident out of ‘several thousand dollars.’

Acevedo and Lomax were arrested on May 22.

Each is charged with attempted grand larceny and misdemeanor conspiracy. Acevedo was held without bail. Acevedo and Lomax are scheduled to appear in Truxton Town Court on June 11.
