CAYUGA HEIGHTS, NY (607NewsNow) — An apartment building in Cayuga Heights might become bigger.
Plans are under review for a 1,740-square-foot addition to a former fraternity home at 306 Highland Road. The building, which currently has nine units, would have 15 units after the addition.
Cayuga Heights Planning Board Chair Fred Cowett said he doesn’t support the latest site plan, which was presented during a meeting on July 28.
“I don’t want to see overflow parking in a fire lane,” he said. “I don’t want to see 16 spaces for 53 residents.”
Architect Jose Guisado said he’s open to improving the site plan.
“If the problem is the parking, we can find a solution,” he said.
The Planning Board is next scheduled to meet on Aug. 25, though it’s unclear if the apartment project will appear on the agenda.
