OWEGO, NY (607NewsNow) – Authorities have likely solved a case of “flying deer” in Owego.

On March 26, Owego Police were called to North Avenue and Fox Street in the village around 10 a.m. for an animal complaint.

According to Owego PD, a man driving south underneath a railroad overpass claimed that a deer flew out of the sky and landed in the roadway, nearly hitting his vehicle. A witness confirmed the claim.

After investigating tracks in the snow, officers believe a dog chased the deer over the railing of the overpass.  Owego PD reminds residents that all dogs must be leashed.
