OVID, NY (607NewsNow) – The Ovid Fire Department has released more information about last month’s block fire.

Emergency personnel from seven counties responded, including 44 agencies outside of Seneca County, and 59 in total. The furthest responding fire department came from nearly 42 miles away in Poplar Ridge. All in all, 444 firefighters and EMS personnel were on the scene that night and millions of gallons of water were used to tackle the blaze that destroyed several businesses and apartments.
