ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – Fisher-Price recalls baby swings for a suffocation hazard.

Officials say all models of ‘Snuga Swings’ should not be used for sleep and bedding materials should never be added. There have been five infant deaths between 2012 and 2022 related to additional bedding and the product’s headrest and body support insert on the seat pad.

Consumers are advised to immediately remove the headrest and body support insert before using the swing for awake activities. Do not add bedding materials or use the swing for sleep even after removing the factory items. Instructions to claim a $25 refund associated with the product alteration can be found here.

Since 2010, about 2.1 million swings have been sold in the United States, 99,000 in Canada, and 500 in Mexico. They were sold at Target, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Toys R Us, and Amazon between January 2010 and January 2024. The retail price was around $160.
