CORTLANDVILLE, NY (607NewsNow) – An Onondaga County woman faces charges in Cortland County.
On July 23, State Police stopped a vehicle for traffic infractions in the Village of Phoenix around 3:15 a.m. Troopers say the driver, later identified as 37-year-old Kimberlee Pontello of Liverpool, gave a fake name.
After an investigation, it was discovered that Pontello had two active arrest warrants in Cortlandville. She was charged with misdemeanor criminal impersonation and turned over to the State Police in Homer, where she was placed under arrest.
Pontello is accused of stealing merchandise in two separate incidents earlier this year at Marshalls in Cortlandville.
On April 25, Pontello allegedly took 73 items totaling over $1,100, and on May 10, she reportedly stole 55 items totaling over $1,300. In both instances, troopers say Pontello left the store without attempting to pay.
Pontello is charged with two counts of felony grand larceny.
