O’Bryan resigns as Cortland County BDC/IDA head; VanGorder returning as temporary leader

CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — Cortland County Business Development Corporation and Industrial Development Agency Director Brendan O’Bryan is out.

According to a statement, O’Bryan resigned to pursue other opportunities. His resignation takes effect today, March 21.

Mike McMahon, who chairs the IDA Board of Directors, says former director Garry VanGorder will step in temporarily to lead the agency until a permanent replacement is named. VanGorder served from 2009 until he retired in 2023, when O’Bryan was selected.
