OWEGO, NY (CortacaToday) — No serious injuries after a house fire in Owego, according to the Owego Fire Department.

Deputy Chief Mike Hopkins was the first to arrive Thursday evening to the Williams Street house after a neighbor called 911 when they heard a smoke detector. Hopkins saw a man in a burning bedroom and helped him out of the house.

Several area departments responded to the fire and remained on the scene over three hours. The cause of Thursday’s fire is unknown.
